@cupellosoccercoaching 1v1 to 2v2 by Dave Clarke β½οΈπ Split the area into 4 squares and have two attackers v two defenders in each of the halfs attacking the target goals. In the squares on each side there is an attacker and a player defending who go 1v1 against each other. The attackers cannot leave their squares but the defending players can double up 2v1 to try to prevent goals from being scored. You can progress the drill by opening up the area so teams are playing 4 v 4 with two goals to score in. Each team can only have two players in a square at any time https://my.cupello.com/coaching/drills/1v1-2v1 Share this drill with your fellow coaches π£ Follow us for more drills weekly or access all our drills at cupello.com π #footballdrills #soccerdrills #footballcoach #soccercoach #womansfootball #academydrills #football #footballtraining #soccertraining #youthfootball #preseason #under13s #attackingdrills #strikerdrills #defendingdrills #attacking #under12s #rondo #shootingdrills β¬ original sound - Cupello
@cupellosoccercoaching Pressing to Win the Ball by Dave Clarke β½οΈπ Team A start by keeping possession of the ball. Five opposition players now come across to press the ball. When possession is turned over, the ball must be passed back to the waiting pair in the other half of the pitch. Five of the other team move at the same time to press in a new 7v5. If the ball goes dead restart with the team last out of possession https://my.cupello.com/coaching/drills/pressing-win-ball Share this drill with your fellow coaches π£ Follow us for more drills weekly or access all our drills at cupello.com π #footballdrills #soccerdrills #footballcoach #soccercoach #womansfootball #academydrills #football #footballtraining #soccertraining #youthfootball #shootingdrills #under13s #attackingdrills #defensivedrills #crossingdrills #attacking #under13s #defenders #rondos β¬ original sound - Cupello
@cupellosoccercoaching Mid to Low Block by Jose Mourinho β½οΈπ The principles in Romaβs mid-to-low block under Jose Mourinho are pretty simple; deny the opposition space in the centre, force them wide, and win the ball on the wings. To recreate that in a session set up four zones 6 yards wide. Begin the practice with all players locked to zones to show how without pressing players must move to block passing routes by clever positioning. It is much harder to block when there is no pressing player. Now let one player press in the end zone making a 4v1 overload. This is the trigger for the other players to move into areas to block any passes as the players get pressed. The angle of the pressing players movement and body position gives cues to the team mates on where the ball will be going an where to block the passes. Now we allow two players to press in the end zone and also one player to go back to the middle zone to block passes into that zone β here the two blues press in the end zone and another blue goes back into the yellow midfield zone. @cupellosoccercoaching Creative Dribbling by Dave Clarke β½οΈπ Split your players into two teams of three plus two floaters who play for the team in possession. Play begins in the central zone and teams attack by dribbling into the larger square then turn and go back into the central zone and attack the goal at the opposite end Play can only leave the central square with a dribble and goals can only be scored from the larger square. @cupellosoccercoaching High Press With Two Strikers by Eddie Howe β½οΈπ At Newcastle United Eddie Howe likes to set up the team to press intensely high and Β up the pitch, with compactness between each line.Β To replicate that in this drill Split the area into two zones. A team of three are in each zone with the team of two pressing players in both zones.Β Add 5 yard zones for the pressing team to score in. The coach plays out to one of the teams of three players and the two pressing players go to try to win the ball. One player presses the player on the ball the other player covers the press and moves quickly when the ball is passed. The teams of three must make 4 passes then pass the ball into the other zone. Switch the pressing players every three times the ball goes across the pitch. If the pressers win the ball they can try to run it into the end zones. @cupellosoccercoaching Attack From Wide by Diego Simeone β½οΈπ Create four gates on the wide areas of the pitch 10 yards from goal. Each gate should be 2 yards wide. Play 6v6 plus goalkeepers. Both teams have three players in the centre zone and two in each end zone. Play from the 3v3 in the centre β team in possession must pass to a player in the end zone through a gate or dribble through one of the gates into the end zone. The player who made the pass or dribbled now joins in the attack 3v2. @cupellosoccercoaching Two At The Back Into Attack by Mauricio Pochettino β½οΈπ Mauricio Pochettino's tactics are influenced by his full backs. The width his full-backs or wing-backs provide help his teams bypass opponents applying a high press, with the goalkeeper able to play direct balls out to them. In attack,Β they help create overloads in dangerous positions and stretch the opposition's defence, Play this game at both ends of the pitch, with a target player for each of the games in the middle zone. Play a 2v2 in front of goal with 2 defenders against 2 attackers. Goalkeeper starts by playing to the two defenders and they try to beat the attackers high press by passing their way to the target player in the central zone. If they can get the ball to the target player they become the attackers and the target player passes back to them and they attack the goal. If the attackers win the ball they attack the goal straight away.
