@cupellosoccercoaching Attack Through the Centre by Dave Clarke β½οΈπ This is defenders v attackers in a 4v4. Defenders start behind the goal with attackers in pairs just outside the penalty area in the coned area. One defender passes to a striker who receives and the pair move forward against the one defender. Vary the overloads using the 4 attackers and 4 defenders depending on who is having success β you want the attackers to have success so you may have to cut back the numbers of defenders. β½οΈ Share this drill with your fellow coaches π£ Follow us for more drills weekly or access all our drills at cupello.com π https://my.cupello.com/coaching/drills/attack-through-centre #footballdrills #soccerdrills #footballcoach #soccercoach #womansfootball #academydrills #football #footballtraining #soccertraining #youthfootball #preseason #under13s #attackingdrills #strikerdrills #defendingdrills #attacking #under12s #throughballs β¬ original sound - Cupello
@cupellosoccercoaching Attack at Speed by Dave Clarke β½οΈπ In this counter attacking drill set up with goals at each end and two teams of 3 players plus a goalkeeper. You need two servers at one end, one near the corner and one by the goal. Servers pass the ball to the goalkeeper who has to pass one touch to catch the opposition out. The team without servers starts the session. @cupellosoccercoaching Box to Box Midfielders by Dave Clarke β½οΈπ Split the area into two boxes of 8x8. You need two pressing players and five passing players. Four passing players are on the sides of one of the boxes with one player on the far end of the second box. Start with a 4v2 in the first box and after four passes the ball is passed into the second box. When the players with the ball play in the second box the defenders change to that box quickly. When the ball is played to another box the attacking players on the longer sides move to the other box quickly. @cupellosoccercoaching Control Balls in the Air by Dave Clarke β½οΈπ Set up as shown. Serving first to the player in the centre box the server has four different angles to pass into the first box and the player there controls and turns and passes to player 1 or player 2. The coach shouts out player 1 or 2 as the server passes the ball and the working player in the middle has two touches to get the ball to the right target player. @cupellosoccercoaching Close Out Space in the Midfield by Dave Clarke β½οΈπ Create two teams of four players, one team attacks the big goal and one team attacks the two mini goals. There are no goalkeepers so players must cover any spaces to stop easy shots at the empty net. The main rule is that there are no passes above head height to stop players shooting high into the net because there is no goalkeeper. The team defending the big goal must force play wide away from danger but the opposite is true of the team defending the small goals they must force play inside away from the wings. @cupellosoccercoaching Defend the Centre by Dave Clarke β½οΈπ In the 2v2 teams are trying to keep possession and to score a point they must pass to one of the target players at one end, the target player passes to the other target player at the same end of the pitch who then passes back to the team who were in possession. Now that team must combine to get the ball to the target players at the other end of the pitch. Swap the target players and the players in the centre every 90 seconds. @cupellosoccercoaching Midfield Link Players by Dave Clarke β½οΈπ With your players you need two teams of 3 players, a team of 6 players and two goalkeepers. The team of 6 play for the team in possession and are distributed around the pitch β one on each side on the outside of the pitch and two at each end in the end zones. Play 3v3 in the middle zone with teams keeping possession to play into one of the end zone neutral players who bounce the ball back with one touch to set up a goal. When a team scores they then attack the opposite goal with a pass from the goalkeeper and the game continues in this wave. All starts and restarts are with the goalie. Switch the players so the team of 6 is split into two teams and the teams of three link up as neutral players. @cupellosoccercoaching Control and Pass by Erik Ten Hag β½οΈπ This simple passing drill is used at Manchester United by Erik ten Hag who perfected it when he was at Ajax. Set up with two target players in the centre that the players from each end combine with as they move up the area. Players go in pairs with player 1 having a ball and passing into the nearest target player who returns the pass. The ball is then passed to the other target player who lays it off to player 2. Player 2 passes across to the players at the other end and the game goes back the other way. Continue in this wave action. @cupellosoccercoaching Mid to Low Block by Jose Mourinho β½οΈπ The principles in Romaβs mid-to-low block under Jose Mourinho are pretty simple; deny the opposition space in the centre, force them wide, and win the ball on the wings. To recreate that in a session set up four zones 6 yards wide. Begin the practice with all players locked to zones to show how without pressing players must move to block passing routes by clever positioning. It is much harder to block when there is no pressing player. Now let one player press in the end zone making a 4v1 overload. This is the trigger for the other players to move into areas to block any passes as the players get pressed. The angle of the pressing players movement and body position gives cues to the team mates on where the ball will be going an where to block the passes. Now we allow two players to press in the end zone and also one player to go back to the middle zone to block passes into that zone β here the two blues press in the end zone and another blue goes back into the yellow midfield zone. @cupellosoccercoaching Midfield Protects Defence by Dave Clarke β½οΈπ You need to split the area into three zones all 10 yards wide. One team is playing 2-2-1 and one team is playing 2-1-2 so players set up in the zones with those formations. They are locked to their zones. The drill starts with one of the goalkeepers who plays out to a defender, and the ball must go into each zone before a shot can be made at goal. The set up creates 2v2s and 2v1 which are the most common combination numbers in a normal match. Players in the middle zone are key to winning the ball and on transition attacking the goal. @cupellosoccercoaching Pass or Press by Dave Clarke β½οΈπ Split your players into two teams of 4 plus 2 neutral players working in the area. This is a possession game in the whole area marked out. The two teams use the two magic men who play for the team in possession making it 6 v 4 in the area. The four players must press working with one player going to the player in possession and the other players covering the passing lanes.Β Share this drill with your fellow coaches π£ Follow us for more drills weekly or access all our drills at cupello.com π https://my.cupello.com/coaching/drills/pass-or-press #controldrills #midfielder #midfielderdrills #passingdrills #rondo #footballdrills #soccerdrills #soccerdrillsforkids #soccerlife #footballcoach #footballpractice #defenderdrills #academydrills #skills #footballskills #footballacademy #socceracademy #pressingdrills β¬ original sound - Cupello
@cupellosoccercoaching Press Teams That Play Out by Dave Clarke β½οΈπ In this tactical drill you need two teams of 6 plus a goalkeeper. One team attacks one defends to start with. The attacking team works in groups of 4 with two resting players in each attack. The four attackers are set up against the 6 defenders who are receiving the ball as a defensive unit playing out from the back. The defenders need to keep the ball for one minute to get a point . The attackers must try to win the ballΒ Β and if they do they have one minute to score a goal. Play for 6 balls swapping the two resting attackers on each ball. If the defenders get past a minute the ball is dead and a new one is played in.Β Share this drill with your fellow coaches π£ Follow us for more drills weekly or access all our drills at cupello.com π https://my.cupello.com/coaching/drills/press-teams-play-out #controldrills #midfielder #midfielderdrills #passingdrills #rondo #footballdrills #soccerdrills #soccerdrillsforkids #soccerlife #footballcoach #footballpractice #defenderdrills #academydrills #skills #footballskills #footballacademy #socceracademy #pressingdrills β¬ original sound - Cupello
