1v1 defending techniques, is key in preventing the opposition from keeping possession. This practice will help players work on their 1v1 defending within a small sided game.

Coaching Objectives

This drill will work on players 1v1 defending skills and ability to defend both the player and space to stop the opposition from keep possession. The players will also be challenged on what they do when they win back possession.

  • 2 Goals
  • 10 Bibs
  • 30x20 y

What the Players Do

Players set up 4v4 with 2 GKs  Split pitch into 4 grids, player from each team place inside a grid each to create a 1v1, players locked inside.   Ball starts from GK who plays out…
