Recovery is one of the important principles of play and if players recover quickly, they are more likely to prevent goals being scored.
Sometimes when the ball is lost it puts the team in danger from a counter attack so players must practice recovery sessions to stop the counter attack before it does any damage.
For this drill you need an area 20 x 10 yards – put a pair of cones 6 yards apart at the far end and another pair of cones five yards nearer the goal. You need 8 players and a server, balls, bibs, cones and a goal.
