Pressing players in areas that are close to the opposition penalty area in the attacking third can lead to lethal counter attacking opportunities, a vital tool for any team
Coaching Objectives
Players need to be able to identify where to block passing routes and the timing of when to press. This then needs to be converted into creating good attacking options.
Speed of play is key to making counter attacks work – win the ball, whole team react, attack wide or centrally with good support play.
